Diamond seed crystals are placed in a chamber filled with carbon gas and heated to 900-1200°C. A microwave beam causes carbon to deposit onto the seed crystals, resulting in the growth of high-quality diamonds.
During a span of 10 to 12 weeks, a sequence of intricate processes takes place where seeds are exposed to a specific environment comprising of gases, pressure, and temperature. This unique environment leads to the breakdown of carbon atoms which gradually accumulate in the seeds.
